La festa di San Giacomo, Perdaxius

Most Italian towns have patron saints for whom they have celebrations annually.  San Giacomo and Sant Anna are the patron saints for Perdaxius the little town in Sardinia. Every year they have a week long celebration in the main square which can consist of various activities. They also have the procession through the town, with horses, two ceremonial bulls and people who dress up in the old traditional clothes. There are also men who play their traditional flute the launeddas. Leaves of sage, basil and myrtle are strewn across the road leaving a wonderful scent when one follows the procession.
